To help researches who are unable to visit in person we are able to take photographs of headstones, war memorials, houses and shops in Darlington for you. We also able to provide copies of old photographs or postcards of some locations and suggest Darlington family history resources which you may find useful.

The cost for taking and supplying photographs is £20. We are also able to lay flowers on your behalf, as an additional service.

If you would like to have a photograph taken on your behalf please contact with the details. For headstone photographs please provide the grave number, or in the case of West Cemetery, the section, row and headstone number from the headstone inscriptions database. We are usually able to supply the requested photographs with a few days, weather permitting.

  1. I am researching my mothers side Beaumont, she came from Darlington as did her first 6 children where would be the best place for me to visit to do more researching in person, I hope to be in the UK this year

    • The Local Studies Centre at the Crown Street library in Darlington would be the best place to find information on your family. They have parish records, registers of electors, historic street directories and lots of other resources for family history research.
